Small Group Silversmithing Jewelry Classes AM

Our classes are designed for all levels of experience. Students taking this class will learn a variety of metalsmithing techniques to create an original finished piece of jewelry of their own design.

Small Group classes are 3 hours long in the morning and offered one day a week, date to be coordinated with the instructor via email or text. Sessions are 5 weeks long. Classes are taught by Alicia Hanson & Brad Johnson. Alicia’s Email is alicia@hioctanedesign.com

Students will get familiar with annealing, forming, stamping, soldering with single and multi-fuel torches, sawing, filing, texturing and finishing techniques. Including learning a basic earring wire, soldering posts, ring band, cuff bracelet, ring bezel, Basic tool use and safety.

Polishing and mass media finishing is onsite.

Most work is created in copper and brass you can purchase and bring sterling silver or gold as well.

Gemstones of all sizes and shapes can also be brought in and incorporated into the jewelry being made. Custom bezels and mountings can be made in class.

All necessary tools and equipment, with the exception of face masks,  are provided for student use. Supplies such as silver, solder, other materials, and incidentals can be purchased from the studio during class time purchased ahead online and brought to class.

These classes typically fill up. Space is limited to 4 students per class each session. No credits, refunds, or make-ups will be issued in lieu of a missed class.  Sorry, no exceptions.
